'Courage' Sterling Lava Bead Necklace | Sterling Silver
In 2002, Mount Nyiragongo erupted 20km north of Goma in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This eruption destroyed more than forty percent of the city, including schools and hospitals, leaving about 120,000 people homeless. The remnants of the eruption can still be seen today with lava stone covering much of the landscape.
These special edition pieces were created to honour the courage, strength and resilience of the communities surrounding Mount Nyiragongo and to raise funds for The Tchukudu Kids Home in Goma. 50 percent of the proceeds from these pieces go directly to the children helping to provide food, safety, shelter and most importantly love, for over 140 children. We thank you, it means the world to us!

A note about wear + care
We are in love with our adjustable chains. However, as with all special jewelry, they require love and care. Please be sure to remove your piece before bathing, swimming or doing messy labour. Additionally, when adjusting your chain, please thread it slowly. With the right care this piece will last you for many wonderful years.
